The new regulations for air cargo shipments to the U.S. Airlines require additional details on shipment documents, including all air waybills (AWB), consolidation manifests, and FWB/FHL messages for Master Air Waybills (MAWB) and House Air Waybills (HAWB). These new regulations will be implemented on October 3rd, 2024. Imports coming into the United States are being required by TSA to provide the following:
– Shipper’s phone number
– Shipper’s email address
– Consignee’s phone number
– Consignee’s email address
– Shipper’s account name
– Shipper’s account issuer
– Shipper’s account number
– Shipper’s account type
– Verified known consignor status
– Shipper’s account establishment date
– Shipper’s account billing type
This information will likely be collected by Radius International. Additionally, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has introduced new security measures. Certain types of cargo must now be transported exclusively on cargo aircraft and will undergo security checks. This also applies to personal items and e-commerce packages. Detailed documentation for shipments not meeting these requirements must be kept for 120 days and made available to the TSA upon request.
