Radius International is committed to providing updates on the upcoming potential strike. Here is what we know:
- Contract Expiration: The current contract between the ILA and USMX will end on September 30th.
- Negotiation Status: USMX wants to restart negotiations but hasn’t been able to meet with ILA leaders.
- ILA Delegate Meeting: On September 4th and 5th the ILA held a meeting with its Wage Scale delegates to discuss contract demands and prepare for a possible strike.
- Strike Sentiment: The ILA has shown a strong desire to strike, with delegates agreeing to a strike starting October 1st if no deal is reached.
- Lack of Communication: The ILA has not shared its current demands with USMX or set up any negotiation meetings.
- USMX Updates: USMX is consistently updating its website where its offer is shown. It includes competitive wage increases and keeping existing technology agreements.
- Potential Impact: A strike could cause widespread delays even a one week shutdown could take four to six weeks to recover from. This will result in significant delays.
- Government Involvement: President Biden has not stepped in to help with the negotiations, leaving both sides to work things out on their own.
