Important Update: New Tariffs on Steel & Aluminum

Attention importers! The new tariffs on aluminum and steel are now in effect, bringing key changes to import requirements. Here’s what you need to know:

  • 25% Tariff on All Steel & Aluminum Imports (Except Russia, which faces a 200% tariff).
  • Exemption: If the steel or aluminum was melted/poured or smelted/cast in the USA, it is not subject to the additional duty.
  •  New Documentation Required: Items containing steel or aluminum now need extra information for customs clearance.

Important Clarification on Tariff Calculation

✔ If your item is not in Chapter 73 or 76 but is on the restricted list, we must determine the steel/aluminum content in the item.
✔ The 25% tariff only applies to the metal portion of the item.
✔ Example: A $100 item with 40% aluminum → The tariff applies to $40, not $100.
✔ If content is unknown, the full item value is subject to the tariff.
