As we enter 2025 it is important to speak on the potential ILA strikes that could happen following the expiration of their contract with USMX on January 15th 2025. Back in October the ILA went on strike for three days causing delays and back up within the ports. The USMX came to an agreement with the ILA on a 62% wage increase back in October to keep the ports open and ensure the supply chain was still running smoothly.
The issue of automation remains on the table and an agreement has not been made. Experts in the field are speaking on the issue and expecting a strike.
