Please be advised that biosecurity measures have now been announced by the
Australian Government; Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment
(DAWE), regarding measures for mandatory fumigation against BMSB (Brown
Marmorated Stink Bug) for the upcoming season 2020/21.
Effective 01 September 2020 – all bookings sailing on or after this date
will be subject to strict Quarantine measures. Fumigation for all General
Purpose (GP) containers should be completed at origin or upon arrival. ALL
Open Top (OT) and Flat Rack (FR) containers will require mandatory
treatment at origin, failure to comply will result in containers being
re-exported, these containers will not be accepted for local treatment.
The DAWE has announced 37 countries are of high risk, with Belarus,
Denmark, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom and Chile now identified
as ’emerging’ risk countries and random offshore inspections may be
selected.
