“I love the fast pace environment of the Freight Forwarding Business”
Kirk Koylion has served as Business Development Executive, Sales manager and Sales Director throughout his career. Ultimately, that experience gave him the ability to develop his own business in a very tough market. “I was studying Economics at Massasoit Community College in Brockton and needed a part-time job. I found one at a 3PL warehouse and that’s how I paid towards my tuition. This then lead me into the industry and the adventure began. I learned from driving a fork lift to labeling freight to working myself into a sales position.”
In 2009, Kirk partnered up with his childhood friend, John Deshamps who also had been in the business and they founded Radius International. Both possessing skills, Kirk sales, John operations they knew that they had what it took to create a strong foundation and solid company. “I wanted our company to set itself apart from our competition, we wanted to get back to basics. Meaning, we wanted to put the customer first. In our industry we only have a service to sell and we knew we had to keep that service top rated if we were going to compete with the best. We’re happy to say that this type of thinking has brought us the success we only could dream of, and we are so grateful to our customers and our employees for this.”
In his free time, Kirk enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. They own a small boat and enjoy getting out in the Plymouth Harbor. His wife, who also grew up in Plymouth, was his high school sweetheart. She is always there to support Kirk’s dream and continues to encourage him to reach his goals. Kirk is a role model to his three children whom he hopes will always reach for the stars and follow their dreams. Because of Kirk’s love of the sea he wanted to leave you with one of his favorites quotes. “The sea of change can pull customers in many directions. It is our responsibility to light the way and take care of them… before the competition does.
All My Best,
Director of Business Development
