Logistics & Trade Update: July 2025

The global trade landscape continues to evolve rapidly. Here are key developments importers and exporters should be aware of:

  • Tariff Activity Increases:
The U.S. has doubled tariffs on steel and aluminum to 50% and introduced Section 232 duties on appliances. A temporary trade pause with China is in effect but set to expire in August, adding uncertainty for many importers.
  • DAP/DDP Shipping Reminder:
Radius reminds all clients: For DAP/DDP shipments, we must be notified 48 hours before air departures and 72 hours before ocean departures. This includes pre-alerts, consignee contacts, and broker information to avoid costly delays.
  • Capacity Constraints & Rate Hikes:
Space remains tight on Asia–U.S. airfreight lanes, and general rate increases (GRIs) are affecting both transpacific and European routes. Planning early remains essential.
